In 2008, long-time Montréal underground musician Dave Lines (of Mongrels, Test Pilot, Moondata Collective, The Mother Funkers and Bokomaru semi-fame) decided that being respected by his peers was no longer enough and he wanted to become a songwriting legend, so he formed the band A Devil's Din with Colin Burnett (drums), Thomas Chollet (bass), Chuck Doucet (guitars) and Dominic Léger (multi-instrumentalist whose skills on guitar and keyboards border on genius), and Lines himself writing the songs, singing, and alternatively playing keys and guitars.
The result is an aural assault best described by infidels as ''Syd Barrett humping the Pixies'', but is easier explained as ''great rock bordering on non-cheesy prog played with a punk attitude and force''. Kind of like... Syd Barrett humping the Pixies. Fine.
For their first video off of their (2011) debut album One Day All This Will Be Yours, A Devil's Din recruited Lee Schnaiberg, not just a leader in the field of found-footage video (he has worked with such acts as Godspeed You! Black Emperor, Moby and Orbital) but also a leader in greening up large-scale music festivals such as Bonnaroo and Osheaga.
This time around, he uses WWII footage to accompany the song Wargasm! - to great results, similar to Metallica's One video, with the added bonus of having no Metallica in it.
