Alex Lahey is an independent singer-songwriter from Melbourne, Australia who is on her way to make a junior Jack White of herself, owning all of her art, her image, and in charge of her entire career. She's won a couple of prizes and prestige festival slots in Australia, and is now set on conquering the rest of the world with her fun, smart, poppy indie-rock debut, I Love You Like A Brother.
When I first heard the lead single, Every Day's The Weekend, my first thought was "oh, cool, the generation that grew up listening to The Strokes and that one good song by The Killers is ready to take its place at the podium", and there's nothing wrong with that, although the song does have that very 2017 lack of guitars and overuse of empty-sounding space:
Callum Preston directed the video and made the sets, while co-director Jam Nawaz was also its cinematographer. It stars Lahey's entourage:

Say What?
You've heard about growing ears on rats' backs, right?
How about on human forearms? How about on human forearms for no one's actual benefit but as an arts/science experiment to eventually hook the thing online and have everyone on the planet hear what's going on in his life?
Well, that's what a Perth, Australia artist has in mind for the one growing on his fucking arm.
You don't like it? Grow your own and do whatever you want with yours.

King Khan Does It Again
No, he didn't show Lindsay Lohan his ass again, but he made the news... for having been mistread by the Sydney Opera House and ranting and raving about it almost incoherently afterwards.
The lucky son of a bitch got to hang out with Lou Reed
and Laurie Anderson
, as well as the manager of the Blind Boys Of Alabama
, who apparently would be interested in having Khan produce and record their next album.
In all the excitement, Khan and bandmate BBQ decided to disband their King Khan & BBQ Show
project (see a video of theirs here) and have cancelled all remaining dates. It seems like over-reaction to me. The news was just too bizarre to pass up.
